Qualification examination, education, training and publishing
In order to ensure the safe use of gas appliances, not only the safety of the appliances themselves but their correct installation and use is essential. JIA conducts the examination for gas engineers dealing with work, maintenance and operations at gas facilities. JIA also conducts knowledge and skills training pursuant to the Law Concerning the Supervision of Specific Gas Consumption Equipment in order to improve the skills of technicians installing gas appliances; education and training for Gas Appliances Setting Specialists (GSS) involved in the installation of cogeneration, condensing type water heaters and fuel cells; and maintains a qualifications system for nurturing technicians with the appropriate skills. In addition, JIA establishes and publishes installation criteria for gas appliances, and seeks to make comprehensive efforts in ensuring the safety of gas appliances.
