Environmental site assessment

Following the enforcement of the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Law, revisions were made to the Real Estate Transaction Law and the ordinances of Japan' s cities and prefectures were reviewed. There is an increasing need to ascertain the soil contamination risks when real estate transactions are carried out. In its capacity as the research body designated by the Ministry of the environment under the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Law, JIA carries out phase I environmental site assessment, into the history of the land use of an area, and phase II environmental site assessment involving soil sampling.
