Safety and Reliability.

The Japan Gas Appliances Inspection Association (JIA) was established in 1967.

Since its inception JIA has, as an objective and impartial third party organization, been working in close collaboration with consumers' groups, academia, government and related business sectors, and conducted a comprehensive range of activities.
These include the inspection and certification of gas appliances, gas leak detectors and fuel cells; inspection and certification of gas supply facilities prior to their use; assessment of environmental products in line with life cycle assessments (LCA); forest certification; environmental site assessment; ISO assessment and registration; examination for gas engineers; education and training of specialist gas appliance fitters; publishing; conducting projects about gas safety commissioned by governmental institutions, addressing the issues of internationalization and work with overseas certification bodies.

 

RvA's Rogo

Japan Gas Appliances Inspection Association (JIA) is the first product certification organization in Japan which has been accredited under ISO/IEC Guide 65 by RvA, an accreditation body in the Netherlands.

JIA properly operates and maintains the product certification system which is in conformance to the international standards, and contributes to keep the confidence in safety and quality of gas appliances and other products.
